I started Mat Rats because I couldn't find clothes I actually wanted to wear.

Most jiu-jitsu and fight brands felt too corny, too loud, too generic, or just not something I'd want on my body outside the gym. I wanted pieces that felt more like real streetwear, but still came from jiu-jitsu and the culture around it.

I've always loved the sport, the people in it, and the weird identity that comes with living on the mats. If you train, you get it. It becomes part of how you think, how you joke, how you carry yourself, and what you're into. I wanted to make something that reflected that world in a way that actually felt clean, cool, and wearable.

That's what Mat Rats is.

A jiu-jitsu-inspired brand built for people who love the culture but are tired of the same played-out gear. Everything is made with a focus on design, quality, and small details that feel true to the sport without screaming it.

All Mat Rats pieces are produced in limited runs and made locally in Oceanside, California. No giant drops. No endless restocks. Once something is gone, it's gone.
